In the recent past we have seen the release of several devices that are a hybrid between laptop and tablet like the EEE Pad Slider. Some think that this type of device could gain popularity in 2012. But Tim Cook is not among them!
Tim has been quite clear: our customers use tablets and a PCs for different applications. Apple provides customers with what they want, and that is why there is no point in creating a mix between them.
Cook went even further when he spoke about Windows 8. He said that they are converging a toaster and a refrigerator.
What do you think? Would you prefer to have an all-in-one device or a tablet and a computer?

Fresh Tablet Reviews
Vizio doesn’t exactly have much of a history in producing tablet devices but it certainly has not made a bad impression here with the Vizio VTAB1008. Its looks are decent, nothing spectacular, but not bad either. It doesn’t exactly have that sleek look that some higher priced tablets have.
The build of the device is solid enough and the cover is quite practical but the design is not quite as sleek or thin as the best tablets out on the market. But it’s relatively low price makes up for any shortcomings in that department. The back cover is made of a fingerprint resistant material which is a pleasant surprise especially in tablets devices that fall within this price range. [click to continue…]

There are different rumors online saying that Samsung may have stopped production of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to include a quadcore processor instead of a dual-core. However, the official Samsung page still informs of a 1GHz dual-core processor.
At this stage of development it is strange that this change was caused by technical problems. A dual-core processor should be powerful enough for a tablet. But what about marketing? If Samsung wants to stay at the top of tablet manufacturers they have to provide the best technology. And releasing a new tablet with a dual-core processor while the competition is moving to quad-core may hurt their image.
But it looks like we won’t have to wait for long before we know what the final configuration of the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 is. Official information says that the tablet will be on sale May 13.

Fresh Tablet Reviews
The Coby Kyros MID7015 is one of the lowest priced tablets in its class. It’s essentially a budget tablet so, unfortunately this means the manufacturers have had to compromise and make up for the low cost with many substandard features.
The Coby Kyros MID7015′s look is okay for a tablet that is extremely low priced, it’s nothing stylish or stunning but it doesn’t look like a plaything either. The covering case could have been made from more sturdy and attractive materials but you could hardly expect more from a device priced at this range. [click to continue…]

Since the Blackberry Playbook is a tablet device that is in such high demand in the market, it is inevitable that there will also be a high demand for Blackberry playbook accessories to make the most of its capabilities and features. There are many different reasons to buy accessories. Some are to make the playbook look more attractive, others to protect it and give the playbook a longer lifespan. Others might buy accessories to enhance the inbuilt features that the device has. The bottom line is that people buy accessories to bring the best out of their devices and to improve their qualities. Here are some of my favorites in the order of use; protection, attractiveness and functionality. [click to continue…]

Fresh Tablet Reviews
The Archos 101 internet tablet carries on Archos’ line of not-so-good looking but fairly functional low cost tablets. In terms of looks the Archos 101 internet tablet is not much different from the other members of the Archos line. The plastic in which it is encased gives the tablet a cheap and fragile look. It does not feel very different either.
It is however very much a compliment to Archos that they have been able to keep this tablet so flat and lightweight despite all the features that have been put into it. Because of its larger screen size the Archos 101 looks and feels less like a plaything than the smaller sized 7 inch tablets tend to do at times. The Archos 101 also has the kick stand behind it also but like the other features on this tablet it looks fragile. [click to continue…]

The first thing you’ll notice about the Blackberry playbook is its relatively small size for a high-end tablet. It’s probably the lightest of the high end tablet category.
It would probably not win a beauty contest in that class but its size, mobility and practicality more than make up for that. It definitely doesn’t look bad, actually, it looks quite good but it could also do better. Despite its small size the Blackberry playbook does not seem fragile, it actually feels quite sturdy. Another nice touch is the bevel border around the screen and the sleek looking speaker grills at the side. [click to continue…]

The Archos 70 internet tablet isn’t really much to look at. Its cover is completely plastic and you’d probably not want to show this off too much because of its looks. However this tablet makes up for its lack of looks with other features.
The tablet is surprisingly thin but the overall build feels quite cheap and fragile. It also has a kick stand on the back but like the overall look of the tablet, it seems really flimsy. But you can hardly complain at the price you can get the Archos 70 internet tablet for. [click to continue…]

The Asus Eee pad TF101 has a sleek, lithe look to it. The slimness of its design is the highlight of this tablet’s looks. The somewhat sharp edges of this tablet however detract from its design.
The construction does not seem to be as solid as some other tablet devices on the market but that problem could be fixed with a good sleeve. With its slim lightweight casing design the Eee pad TF101 is a good companion for anyone who likes to work on the go. [click to continue…]
